THE WITHLACOOCHEE STATE TRAIL

We are a community of supporters dedicated to the social enjoyment of Florida's premier paved rail trail. Together, we preserve and maintain the trail and protect the natural canopy for every hiker, cyclist, and friend.

Our Stewardship
& Social Spirit

We are the Friends of the Withlacoochee State Trail, the official Citizens Support Organization (CSO) of the Florida State Parks. As dedicated stewards, we work to fund and facilitate the infrastructure that makes our trail a world-class destination. From maintaining pristine rest areas and pavilions to ensuring the historic tree canopy remains thick and shielding, we manage the essential enhancements that fall outside the state park budget.

More than just a maintenance crew, we are a family of like-minded outdoor enthusiasts. Whether you are cycling the longest paved rail trail in Florida, hiking its scenic vistas, or running for fitness, you are part of our community. We are a social group that thrives on the shared joy of nature, fostering a culture of volunteerism where everyone works together for the lasting good of the trail we all share.
